At This Time the Disease of the Child

The rain came, the clouds in the sky, the sudden rain, the occasional intense heat. Humidity in the air is much higher. At this time of the year, children suffer from various diseases. Seasonal fever, runny nose, cough is not uncommon at this time. But this year is completely different. This time you can't leave home and go to the hospital if you want. Do not feel safe going to the doctor's chambers or clinic. If you have a fever and cough again, you are getting scared - isn't it? In this changed situation, children have to deal with these problems with a cool head. The child should be taken care of and treated at home as much as possible.

Newborn health monitoring

A known problem for newborns during this period is nasal congestion.  To close the nose, the child cannot breathe, cannot drink milk, has a runny nose, has a chest noise.  I tell mothers, don't be afraid of it.  This problem is very common in all children.  If the nose is closed, wipe the nose with a cotton bud with 2 drops of salt water or 2 drops of Norsal / Nasomist drops.  You can use it as many times as you need.  It is not a drug and its use will not harm the baby.

If the child has a fever or cough with the nose closed, make sure that the child is breathing frequently (60 times or more per minute), and that the lower part of the ribs of his chest is going to be inserted.  If it is, then it must be understood that the child is suffering from pneumonia.  In that case antibiotics will be needed.  But don't forget to buy antibiotics or cough medicine from the neighborhood store and feed the baby.  This can harm the baby.  Instead, call a well-known physician or contact a physician where telemedicine is available.  Briefly explain the child's problem, describe your observations.  Then give the medicine as per the doctor's prescription.

If the child becomes lethargic, stops eating, has a fever, has convulsions, turns blue or has a cold then go to the nearest hospital immediately.

Many people do not bathe their children on rainy days for fear of getting cold. If the baby is healthy, take a bath with lukewarm water every day. Newborns often have soft, watery, or green stools when they are breastfed. Thin bowel movements can occur 24 times in 24 hours. But this is not diarrhea - this is because the amount of lactose in mother's milk is high. In this case, never stop breastfeeding the newborn.

The important thing is that the mother also needs to be healthy.  Let mom eat all kinds of food.  As long as the mother is healthy, the baby will get enough milk, the baby will also be healthy. Only breastfeed for up to six months. Try to give the baby family food from six months. If there is a breastfeeding mother in the family, she should follow all the hygiene rules at this time.

Those who are more than 6 months old

In this climate, children over the age of six months often suffer from colds, coughs, fevers and occasional diarrhea.

Give paracetamol drops or syrup in case of fever.  The amount may vary by age or weight.  Weigh 10 kg or give 15 drops 3-4 times a day till the age of one year, if the fever is 100 degrees.  15 to 20 kg 2 teaspoons, more than 3 teaspoons.  Wipe the body repeatedly with a towel.

If you have a cough, mix honey-lemon or basil juice-honey with hot water and give it to eat.  If the cough is severe, take 1 teaspoon of salbutamol 3 times a day.  Don't buy antibiotics yourself.  Common colds and coughs do not require antibiotics.  If you are given antibiotics, it will not work if you have a serious infection later.

Make the baby drink more water.  Eat more foods that contain vitamin-C, and eat all foods with your family.  There is no ban on any food for cold and cough.  Make sure the baby is having trouble breathing, such as if the lower part of the ribs of the chest is going inwards, is breathing fast (6-12 months 50 or more, 1-5 years 40 or more). Contact a doctor in that case.

The child vomits for many reasons. If the baby vomits repeatedly, give the syrup Omidon before meals, do not force-feed the baby.

Diarrhea in children

If you have a thin stool more than 4 times throughout the day, it can be called diarrhea.  Feed 10 to 20 teaspoons of saline / rice saline depending on the age after each bowel movement.  Eat saline slowly.  Feeding at once can cause vomiting.  Boil raw bananas with soft rice and eat more liquid foods, such as rice starch, fruit juice, coconut water, chira water, sour yogurt.  Do not stop breastfeeding.  Other foods are not forbidden.  In many families, if the child has diarrhea, even the mother is not allowed to eat a variety of foods.  That's not right.

Notice if the baby has signs of dehydration. The symptoms are:

  • Feeling restless, irritable or dull,

  • Getting into the eye hole,

  • Feeling thirsty or not eating at all,

  • Loosening of the skin.

If the symptoms of dehydration are severe, the child should be admitted to the hospital.  In addition, if vomiting is high, saline can not be eaten or can not be eaten, if there is excessive bowel movements, if there is blood in the bowel, seek medical attention.

Isn't it coronavirus?

At this time, the child and any member of the family is afraid of fever - Corona did not?  In fact, the rate of coronary heart disease in children is much lower.  However, most children do not have such symptoms.  However, it is very mild, such as fever, sore throat, cough, occasionally a child may have shortness of breath.  It is possible to give them treatment at home.  And since babies aren't going out now, they're less likely to get infected if they don't have an outsider or a parent.  So parents who go out must be sterilized before they come to the baby.
